Since the lockdown was implemented on March 24, 2020, WOTR has been working at the frontlines, across seven states in India, being a source of support for the rural communities, especially farmers in these difficult times. We present to you a snapshot of our work — the relief measures we are undertaking on the ground to arrest the losses incurred by the COVID-19 pandemic.
For small and marginal farmers in India, livestock acts as an 'insurance' and helps in income diversification. To promote healthy livestock, WOTR recently conducted a health camp for livestock at the Sonpura village of Karauli district in Rajasthan. A team consisting camp-in charge Sawai Singh Nitharwal, Dr Bijendra Singh Verma and Rajendra Prasad Jataw organised this camp that was held on Friday, December 28 2018 and examined the health of over 400 animals along with conducting vaccination. The villagers were also made aware about the artificial insemination, seasonal diseases of animals and vaccination.
