In 2015, the Government of Maharashtra launched the JSA, with the aim of making 25,000 villages in Maharashtra drought-free.
Position : Agriculture Expert
Job Location : Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh
Provide overall thematic leadership and guidance on agriculture and allied activities to different project teams.
Active technical support to various agriculture and allied activities being undertaken in different districts.
Liaison with government functionaries, government departments, Universities and KVKs.
Technical support and guidance to staff, identified farmers, SHG groups, village development committees as and when required on production systems, crop insurance, crop advisory, micro-irrigation, animal husbandry and organic cultivation.
Technical support on establishing farmer Producer Company and establishing link with other key players in the sector. Leading whether advisory services of WOTR.
Preparation of crop calendar for all crops grown in the project villages covering all the season i.e. Kharif , Rabi and Zaid.
Providing technical inputs and responding to queries of the farmers/project team.
Document the best practices and maintaining data base.
Contribute to the research on agriculture component.
Any other tasks assigned by the organisation.
Candidate should have a master’s degree in agriculture with 3-4 years or more of work experience in development sector. However, graduates in agriculture with experience of over 10 years could also be considered for the position.
The candidate should:
Have considerable experience and knowledge of preparing and dissemination of agro-advisories.
Have experience of developing and extension of package of practises for various crops.
Should have experience and be passionate for promotion of organic agriculture.
Should have the capacity to perform research project on the different subjects.
Should have experience on livestock development and management.
Should have experience in promotion of micro irrigation and formation and management of farmer producer companies.
Should be familiar with MS – Office (Word, Excel & Power point), Google sheets, SPSS software.
Salary: Negotiable with experience, qualifications.
