Since the lockdown was implemented on March 24, 2020, WOTR has been working at the frontlines, across seven states in India, being a source of support for the rural communities, especially farmers in these difficult times. We present to you a snapshot of our work — the relief measures we are undertaking on the ground to arrest the losses incurred by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2016-17, WOTR along with CLP India started the project ‘Water security through community-led water resources development at Khandke catchment villages’ in 15 selected villages of the Ahmednagar and Beed districts of Maharashtra. The Project Impact Assessment Report, shared here, clearly shows how this project has benefitted the village communities through an emphasis on increasing access to water, for domestic and agricultural purposes through soil and water conservation work, promoting gender equity through the formation of self-help groups). To promote organic agriculture and create awareness about the need for water conservation through activities like water budgeting, soil testing, and training in preparation of organic formulations.
