Since the lockdown was implemented on March 24, 2020, WOTR has been working at the frontlines, across seven states in India, being a source of support for the rural communities, especially farmers in these difficult times. We present to you a snapshot of our work — the relief measures we are undertaking on the ground to arrest the losses incurred by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Water Budgeting: A tool for improving water governance at local level
While working in rural India for more than 25 years, WOTR found the Water Budgeting tool to be very powerful, if implemented by taking into account the water stewardship approach. This tool is useful to motivate communities to safeguard water availability. It also helps the community members to take informed decisions about water use and cropping practices.
