There is an urgent need to create mechanisms to empower widows in Yavatmal and Vidarbha, and give them the support they need to pick up the pieces of their lives and move forward. However, such initiatives are rare. One of the few such projects for the welfare of the helpless women is run by Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR) and its sister organization Sampada Trust.
Watershed Organisation Trust is pleased to share the research article – ‘Community-driven vulnerability assessment and resilience building: cases from development contexts’ by Marcella D’Souza, Bhavana Rao and Suchita Awasthi in the book ‘Enhancing Adaptation to Climate Change in Developing Countries Through Community-based Adaptation: Think Globally and Act Locally’. This book presents evidence on how adaptation technologies, resources and expertise can be devolved to the local levels through Community-Based Adaptation approaches.
