Natural farming focuses on restoring soil vitality through bio-inputs made from cow dung and urine, composting, green manuring, and microbial cultures such as Jeevamrut. According to the blog, it can reduce input costs, improve soil organic carbon and water retention, and increase crop resilience.

India is home to over 146 million farm holdings (Agricultural Census 2015-16), and the sector supports nearly half of India’s workforce, yet contributes only about 18% to the national GDP (World Bank, 2022).

Natural farming avoids synthetic inputs and relies on ecological processes to restore soil vitality. Farmers adopting these practices have reduced their dependence on external inputs while improving soil health and rebuilding trust in the ability of their land to sustain their families and ecosystems.

Agricultural drones can be used for aerial spraying, monitoring crop health through sensors, and mapping field boundaries using GPS. They allow targeted application of nutrients, helping reduce waste, save time, and limit farmers’ exposure to harmful chemicals.

Under the ProRISE project supported by the Walmart Foundation, WOTR is prioritising training for women from FPOs in Bhokardan (Jalna) and Dharashiv. In partnership with Garuda Aerospace, women are being trained and certified as drone pilots, while the project-procured drones are used by FPOs to offer precision spraying and monitoring services.

Under the ProRISE project, supported by the Walmart Foundation, WOTR is prioritising the training of women from Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in Bhokardan (Jalna) and Dharashiv as certified drone pilots, in partnership with drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace.
