Intern / Volunteer
Intern / Volunteer
WOTR’s welcomes the opportunity to work with students, recent graduates and volunteers at other stages of their careers through internships. These assignments provide an opportunity to gain new skills, learn more about our work, and strengthen its ability to carry out its mission of reducing poverty through community mobilization for sustainable watershed development and integrated rural development.
It offers a wide range of internship positions, each tailored to align student’s talents and interests with the needs of our teams. Internships can vary from 1 month to 12 months. WOTR encourages interns to seek their own funding but does provide financial support for direct work related travel and expenses.
Candidates must be self-driven and have empathy and compassion preferably with their Bachelors or Masters degrees in disciplines that are related to WOTR’s thematic areas.
Testimonials
Marc Siepe
“I was studying political science but at WOTR I could expand my horizon in writing and filming for the public as well as working on studies and reports. Working for WOTR means that you can be creative and that you have the freedom to be the creator of your own project.”
Apoorwa Gaurie Ganguli
“I was keen to intern at WOTR, as this organisation has done pioneering work in both watershed development and gender mainstreaming. I have read extensively about the rural areas of our country and the conditions there, but when I actually joined WOTR I got a ground-level view. I stayed in villages in Aurangabad district and interacted closely with the local people there. Through this interaction, I came to realize that actually changing anything on the ground requires you to be sensitive to the rural communities and see things from their point of view. You need to be inclusive for your work to succeed. This is especially true when it comes to the long-term success of your project.”
