Today is the World Day to combat Drought and Desertification! We are very happy to share that WOTR has been chosen for the ‘Land for Life’ Award by the United Nations Convention to Combat Drought and Desertification (UNCCD) for its work that reclaimed degraded land through participatory watershed development. This award was initiated by UNCCD and its partners in 2011 and it recognizes the excellence and innovation of individuals, groups, institutions and businesses whose work and initiatives have made a significant contribution in achieving Land Degradation Neutrality.
On this occasion, WOTR’s Audio-Visual unit is happy to present a short film ‘A New Beginning’. The film will take you through the journey of WOTR making barren land blossom. It tries to capture and highlight the problems of drought, land degradation and WOTR’s holistic approach towards addressing these problems.
